Unlike fish mounts of the past, which sometimes give the appearance of a dead fish on your wall, Liz Lang rubbings are designed to suit the whole families tastes. Prints are also much cheaper than a fiberglass. Prints can be ordered by themselves or matted with frames.
Artist Liz lang has created her fish rubbings by using decades of fishing and diving experience to master the life like colors of her specimens. Native to Florida, most of her life has revolved around being in and on the ocean.
Spawned from her many years of fishing and diving in the local Atlantic Waters of the Florida Keys, Liz lang introduces her own unique style of fish rubbing. after artistically bringing the body of the freshly caught fish back to life with the colors it displayed in the sea, She covers it with a shroud of canvas and lovingly caresses and rubs each distinct characteristic of the fish's anatomy. Upon lifting the canvas, an imprint of the dramatically painted fish is produced . She then hands paints each eye to give new life to this magnificent fish for fisherman and collectors to enjoy for years to come. for the finishing touch , frames are then hand built and hand painted to match each rubbing for a truly breathtaking presentation.

We work with a large number of Fishing Charter Captains around the world. Each Captain has the necessary documents to authenticate your catch. Every detail will be included of your catch to ensure a beautiful and timeless work of art!
Next, we carefully design your print to match the dimensions of your catch. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist herself and is a Limited Edition.
Finally, the print is carefully packaged and shipped to you for your enjoyment!

Gyotaku (Japanese , from gyo "fish" + taku "rubbing") is a traditional form of Japanese fish printing, dating from the mid 1800s, a form of nature printing used by fishermen to record their catches. There are two methods used in gyotaku.
The direct approach is the best way to do gyotaku. In order to make a gyotaku print, one places the subject (e.g. fish, crab, scallop shell) on a wooden bench and paints one side with sumi ink. Modern gyotaku artists often substitute acrylic or other painting material for the traditional sumi.
Although Gyotaku is an ancient art, it is now is used to record catches of sport fish and to document information about fish biology. Fish prints often show details of the fishs external structure that are not apparent when looking at the fish itself.

We have structured our pricing according to the lenght of the fish. We then create the print leaving proportionate spacing on all sides. SPECIAL DIRECTIONS ON HANDLING PRE-RUBBED FISH
To prepare the trophy fish for an original rubbing, gut and ice the fish down. If the fish is edible, and the angler would like the mead returned, arrangements can be made. The trophy fish can also be frozen by folding all the fin down to the body, and wrapping in a old towel for padding. Prices will vary according to size, species, and location of fish. Prices vary on the type of fish and size.
